Here at Dandenong Presbyterian Church, we believe children are an important part of our church family. Children are invited to sing with us, pray with us, listen carefully to the Bible, and hear God’s Word preached. While some parts of the service may feel like they are aimed more at the “big kids”, we encourage parents to help their children understand and participate in each part of the service.

While some churches have Sunday School or a children’s talk during the service, our Sunday School takes place after the service during morning tea. This means children remain in the service with their parents and are encouraged to worship and engage with God’s people together.

Our hope is that, from a young age, children will learn that they belong to the church family and that worship is something we do together as we joyfully know, love, and live for King Jesus.

  • Sunday services are not just for the ‘big’ kids. God loves the ‘little’ kids as well, and they are invited to worship Him. Children remain in the service with their parents and are encouraged to sing, pray, listen carefully to the Bible, and engage with God’s Word together as a family.

  • We want every family to feel comfortable, supported and at home. Every child is wonderfully unique, and we want to make space for each child to belong and grow.

  • Please don’t feel embarrassed if your children make noise.

  • We provide an activity booklet with a pencil case for children to use during the service. It includes activities related to the sermon and helps children engage with the service.

    Full transcripts are normally provided for older kids who can read and want to follow along.

    A small cry room is available to settle children.

    We have a church culture that encourages and supports parents as they raise their children.

  • Young children are encouraged to join our short Sunday School program during morning tea. Parents can grab a cuppa and connect with other members of the congregation while our volunteers provide an opportunity for children to grow in faith as they learn about Jesus through the Bible.

  • All leaders and volunteers adhere to the Presbyterian Church of Victoria's Safe Church

    Policy and hold a valid Working With Children Check.
