Safe Church Compliance

All organisations in Victoria that work with children must comply with the Victorian Child Safe Standards. Safe Church Compliant congregations and organisations commit to safeguarding children and adults in word and deed.

Safe Church

At Dandenong Presbyterian Church, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and caring environment where everyone can worship, belong, be known and participate.

As a church, we take seriously our responsibility to protect children and vulnerable people from harm and to ensure that our ministries reflect the love of Christ. We therefore adhere to the Safe Church policies and procedures established by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria (PCV).

These policies provide guidance and requirements for safeguarding, worker screening, training, reporting and promoting safety within our churches and ministries. All those involved in ministry at Dandenong Presbyterian Church are expected to comply with these requirements.

We also desire to be a church where every person is treated with dignity and respect, recognising that all people are made in the image of God. We welcome people from different racial, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, as well as people with disability and those who are neurodiverse.

Resources

As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria (PCV), Dandenong Presbyterian Church follows the Safe Church policies and procedures established by the PCV Safe Church Unit. These policies and resources express Christ's love and our respect for everyone we encounter in our ministries.

The gospel is for everyone, regardless of ability and individual circumstances - including the neurodiverse and disabled. The PCV welcomes adults and children with disability to our churches and ministries.
